Most airline companies suffered greatly post 911 event. Few are still on government life support while others have merged in order to make few cents. In the meantime, free-of-charge luggage check is presented as value-add for travelers. The world credit meltdown continue to shape the landscape of airline operations. In addition, the turbulent oil prices will continue to present challenges to their bottom line.

Does this mean there aren’t any real deals for travelers? No. There are deals. But you’ll have to be patient and be willing to be flexible. Obviously, if you’re traveling during holidays, peak seasons, and to popular destinations, it will be tougher to find a desirable deal. Otherwise, last minute deals still exist if you’re able to pick up and go with moments of notice.
