If you’re planning on couple of days visiting a place, it’s definitely a good idea to find a hotel centrally located near sights of interest and activities. However, if your plan of stay is more than 5 days, my advice is to look for a condo or some sort of vacation rental. Especially with smaller children, a condo or vacation rental equipped with a full kitchen is so much more convenient. We’ve rented vacation condo/homes in Paris, Barcelona, and Florida.

Again, I emphasize on getting more for your dollars. Weekly condo/vacation homes rates are far more economical than hotel nightly rates.
